The CyberLab of Grottaglie to the short master “Cybersecurity for network resilience” at the Politecnico di BariNel context of the dissemination activities of the research project results provided by the Program Contract “Suite cybersecurity and SOC products”, on February 8, 2025, the colleagues of CyberLab of Grottaglie, led by Antonio Maci, held a lecture within the module “Security in telecommunications networks: offensive techniques” within the short master “Cybersecurity for network resilience” Organized by the Politecnico di Bari.

Preserving defence systems

The lecture covered the weaknesses of malware detection engines, highlighting how current defence systems can be bypassed by advanced evasion techniques and those related to hacking techniques for security-critical systems, With particular emphasis on IT and OT infrastructures. During the lecture, some of the experiences and results achieved by the research activities provided for in the program contract in the field of malware detection and simulation of IT and OT exercise scenarios were presented.

The lesson concluded by identifying the need for hybrid detection strategies to ensure more effective protection against emerging threats and the importance of implementing advanced security measures and proactive defence strategies, Using advanced solutions and technologies to protect critical systems.
